Katherine Standefer - Flute

Katherine, 20, is currently a student in her third year at the University of Michigan and is pursuing her Bachelor degree in Flute Performance.  Katherine has been playing the flute for about eleven years, and has studied with Jeffery Zook, and Amy Porter, with whom she continues to study at the University of Michigan.  Over the years, Katherine has placed first in the Southeast Michigan Flute Association High School Competition, was a finalist in the National Flute Association High School Soloist Competition, and was a finalist in the Southeast Michigan Flute Association Young Artist Competition.   In the Summer of 2010, Katherine was one of six winners of the National Flute Association Masterclass Competition, and traveled to Paris, where she was a part of the European American Musical Alliance.

Katherine is a member of the Michigan Symphony Band and the University Symphony Orchestra, and will be traveling to China with the Symphony band in May of 2011.
